Presbyterian Church of Mt. Washington
The "Red Door" Church on Bailey Ave.

The Presbyterian Church of Mount Washington, in collaboration with the Board of Directors of The Urban Mountain Gathering Place, announce the anticipated January 2004 opening of a facility to provide warm hospitality in a beautiful space where members of the Pittsburgh community may gather to transform perspectives. The Gathering Place will offer competitive conference and retreat facilities to local companies, non-profit organizations, and churches.

Although the Gathering Place will not provide overnight accommodations, the staff will work with local hotels and bed-and-breakfasts to provide accommodations at the lowest rates possible for overnight retreats.

The Presbyterian Church of Mount Washington has been serving the neighborhoods of Mt. Washington, Duquesne Heights, Arlington, Knoxville, and Beltzhoover since 1884 and believes that the Gathering Place will provide needed space for members of the larger community of Pittsburgh to gather. Funds derived will cover the operating costs related exclusively to the Gathering Place. Any additional funds received will then support outreach ministries and programs through the Presbyterian Church of Mt. Washington for the benefit of several local neighborhoods.

Rev. Bebb Wheeler Stone, Ph.D.
President

The Urban Mountain Gathering Place offers conference and retreat facilities to Pittsburgh companies, churches, non-profit organizations, individuals, and other groups seeking a quiet, accessible, creative location above the busy pace of city life.
